About Dr. Fata

Dr. Joseph J. Fata applies the most advanced training honed by years of experience in cosmetic plastic surgery to breast surgery. His surgical expertise makes him one of Indianapolis' most respected and sought-after plastic surgeons. Dr. Fata been invited to guest lecture on a variety of topics in plastic surgery, both nationally and internationally. He has been featured as one of Indianapolis' Top Docs in the Indianapolis Monthly magazine for plastic surgery.

Dr. Fata has been practicing as a plastic surgeon in Indianapolis since 1992. He earned his M.D. at the Syracuse campus of the State University of New York. He performed a residency in plastic surgery at the Oregon Health & Science University and served a fellowship at Washington University Medical Center in St. Louis.

Dr. Fata's core philosophy holds him to a high standard of care:

Dr. Fata's practice encompasses the full range of cosmetic plastic surgery. He has performed thousands of procedures of all types, but his special interest and expertise is in breast surgery. He was one of the first plastic surgeons in Indiana to provide a "24 Hour Rapid Recovery Program" for breast augmentation that allows women to return to most normal activities the day after surgery.

Dr. Fata has staff appointments at St. Vincent Hospital and the Carmel Ambulatory Surgery Center where he serves as a member of the board. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the Indianapolis Medical Society and the Indiana State Medical Association.

Dr. Fata is married and is the proud father of four daughters: one entering law school, two in college and one in high school. He has learned much about life from them, including the belief that the best way to care for patients is to treat them as family. He enjoys spending his free time with family and friends, exercising and, at the risk of sounding like a cliché, is trying to learn to play the game of golf.
